It is also an inflammatory disease which over time can cause damage to arteries and to the heart as well as to other organs. </a:t></a:r></a:p><a:p><a:pPr marL="0" indent="0"><a:buFont typeface="Arial" charset="0"/><a:buNone/></a:pPr><a:endParaRPr lang="en-US" sz="2000" dirty="0" smtClean="0"><a:latin typeface="Arial" pitchFamily="34" charset="0"/><a:cs typeface="Arial" pitchFamily="34" charset="0"/></a:endParaRPr></a:p><a:p><a:pPr marL="0" indent="0"><a:buFont typeface="Arial" charset="0"/><a:buNone/></a:pPr><a:r><a:rPr lang="en-US" sz="2000" dirty="0" smtClean="0"><a:latin typeface="Arial" pitchFamily="34" charset="0"/><a:cs typeface="Arial" pitchFamily="34" charset="0"/></a:rPr><a:t>Because of this inflammatory effect, a person who has HIV and who does not smoke has the same risk for heart attack as a person who doesn’t have HIV but who does smoke.
