CONRAD and FHI360 present a series of 3 workshops that build knowledge and skills of research methods aimed at the development and/or adaptation of composite measures for socio-behavioral constructs that may be culturally determined.
- Workshop 1: is intended to discuss reasons for use of composite measures/assessment tools (e.g., scales, indexes) and general approaches to their development and validation
- Workshop 2: focuses on ways to assess, adapt or refine the content of composite measures to ensure cultural fit, including some hands-on practice with qualitative and semi-structured approaches
- Workshop 3: will walk through statistical approaches for scale development and validation, including exploratory factor analysis to reduce item content and confirmatory factor analysis to validate performance of measures and other approaches to construct and predictive validity
